Welcome to
Where Art and Nature Meet
Rice Lake Arts is a creative learning space where we offer workshops, retreats, community programming and other cultural events.
RLA workshops invite participants to draw inspiration from nature as they explore their creativity in a variety of visual media and performing arts.
Our beautiful 5 acre grounds, sculpture garden and recently updated barn space are available for events and celebrations, and we welcome community groups to reach out regarding potential collaborations.
We look forward to sharing our little slice of heaven in the rolling hills of Peterborough County with our community!
StoryCentre Canada at Rice Lake Arts
We are excited to announce a new partnership with StoryCentre Canada, a non-profit, community-engaged arts organization that focuses on helping participants to create individual digital stories – short 2-4 minute multi-media videos rooted in personal narrative.
Our first Digital Storytelling workshop will take place June 26-28 in our lovely restored barn space. Enrollment is now open through StoryCentre Canada. Take advantage of their Special Promotion and save $50 if you register before January 31, 2026!
And check back here for further details on these and other new workshops for our 2026 season.
Our Workshops – Where Art and Nature Meet
We offer workshops in a wide range of media and approaches. What they all have in common are accomplished instructors who love to teach, small class sizes to provide individual support and guidance, a relaxed, joyful approach to learning and a deep connection to the natural world.
Enrolling in an art workshop is a great way to reconnect with your creative, imaginative, playful self – a brief time away from the busy world we all inhabit.
Stone & Wood Carving
These carving workshops will build on your skills and ideas and provide a creative experience that is dynamic and supported.
Rice Lake Arts is excited to continue a long tradition of direct stone carving workshops in our lovely outdoor space. No tools or experience required – just curiosity, a pair of goggles and lots of water.
Craft & Design
At Rice Lake Arts we offer workshops in a variety of craft practices such as basket weaving, mosaics, wood burning, knitting, needle felting and more. Whether you are a seasoned crafter or a novice, you will be inspired by our joyous approach to learning traditional practices with a modern aesthetic.
Storytelling & Improv
Our inspiring barn space is the venue for these engaging workshop offerings. Join us for some expressive fun through improv led by the fabulous Linda Kash! Or perhaps you’d like to tell an important story? Work with StoryCentre Canada’s experienced facilitators to create your own digital story.
